Professional Chair Report
My mission as the Nu Professional Chair is to develop our brotherhood through a diverse array of events catered towards professional development. In the Fall, I will be holding events such as a P4/APPE Panel and a talk from one of our professors, Dr. Smith on her experience with the “Life in Pharmaceutical Industry”. The P4/APPE Panel will be a collaboration with the Epsilon chapter, giving our brothers the opportunity to learn more about APPE rotations, expectations, and tips & tricks from an array of experienced P4 and alumni. Dr. Smith’s talk on Industry will expose brothers to the hidden secrets of the pharmaceutical industry and the truth of what that avenue of pharmacy entails.
In the Fall, my committee and I are also hosting events such as a Resume/CV/LinkedIN workshop, pharmacy essay reviews, mock professional interviews, and a fashion show which will demonstrate how to dress professionally. In the Spring, I plan to hold more events including: a student research panel, a faculty careers panel, an alumni residency/fellowship panel, and an informal presentation on the unique UConn Pharmacy Tracks. Many more ideas are still to come so stay tuned!
